Defraktor is a experimental art project, blending various sounds and styles, from Experimental Electro Wave to ambient and field recordings, started by Karsten Hamre (also known from Penitent, Arcane Art, Dense Vision Shrine etc) in 2002.

There are no limits of what elements that might be blended into the music of Defraktor. For Karsten Hamre it is the channel of exploring many grounds of music.

Karsten Hamre is a prolific Norwegian musician who has been active in the experimental music scene for over two decades. Over the years, he has released numerous albums and collaborated with a range of artists to create music that is both atmospheric and ethereal. One of the most intriguing projects is Defraktor, is a blend of dark ambient, industrial, noise, field recordings, ethereal, experimental and drone music, creating a sound that is both eerie and beautiful.
Defraktor is a project that explores the boundaries of sound and texture, using a range of instruments and techniques to create music that is both experimental and atmospheric. The project explores the boundaries of sound and texture, using a wide range of instruments and sounds to create music that is both hypnotic and captivating.
